State level Workshop on Rehabilitation of Missing and Trafficked Children
Self introduction of participants was held after which business session started.
Shri. Rakesh Sengar, (Project Director, BBA) said that we all always talk and discuss about child-protection. In this regard, I would like to say thatthere are two types of act that comes under it
- Juvenile Justice Act and

Programme Objective:
To address the issue of Human Trafficking, Child Labour and Child Protection in source areas of Jharkhand, to aware and sensitize the people and children of Jharkhand, to advocate with government to form better policies, to work on drop out issues in Jharkhand and to combat this issue from Jharkhand and finally to create livelihood opportunities in Jharkhand.
Programme Highlights:
The two children Ms. Juhi and Ms. Poonam started anchoring the programme and they initially called the students of Rajkiya Krith Madhya Vidhyalaya Khunti to sing welcome song and welcome the honourable guests present in the dias. (more…)

TWO DAYS PROGRAMME WITH NOBEL LAUREATE DR. KAILASH SATYARTHI
1st Day- KISHORE-KISHORI & YUVA SAMVAD
With Nobel Laureate Dr. Kailash Satyarthi
An interactive session (Kishore-Kishori & Yuwa Samvad) with Nobel Laureate Mr. Kailash Satyarthi was organized by BBA and BKS, meant to support campaigns for combating trafficking and child labour, in association with the state Social Welfare Department, JSCPCR and NGO partners like Plan India, CINI, Save the Children, Chhotanagpur Samaj Vikas Sansthan, Prerna, OAK Foundation, Jan Sarokar and Ekjut at hotel BNR Chanakya, Ranchi, on 22nd May, 2017.
Shri. Sanjay Kr. Mishra said that new acts for children will create a milestone for children. This is the result of all those campaigns done till now. From 12 June we will focus to reach out all those children who are away from education. (more…)

BAL KUNJ
BALKUNJ serves as a residential home for children who are away from home and provide comprehensive child care facilities to children for ensuring their all round development. It is aimed at ensuring proper care, protection and contribution in overall development of children up to the age of 18 years.
The Objective of the Children Home is to:
- Provide Shelter, Proper Care and Protection to children living in difficult circumstances without parental care.
- Provide shelter to those children whose case is pending before the Child Welfare Committee till final decision is made or restoration in family is ensured.
- Coordination with JSCPS, DCPS, CWC and local Police for rescue, rehabilitation and providing institutional care to children living in difficult circumstances and vulnerable conditions.

Introduction of the Project
The project aims to enhance the capacity of women and identified support groups on advocacy and lobbying to address violence against women and facilitating political participation of women at all levels of governance. Violence against women needs to be seen as an issue that is based on the existing power relations, interpretation of masculinity and patriarchy that govern relationship between man and women. (more…)

Introduction:
“Aaghaaz” project has been launched in five cities of India as Patna, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Raipur and Ranchi with the support of VSO India Trust and Bharti Infratel Limited. In Ranchi Bal Kalyan Sangh (BKS) is Implementing partner of this project.
Purpose/Objective:
“Aaghaaz” project’s objective is to improve the livelihoods of 200 poor marginalized urban women through interpersonal, technical skill training and job placement. Its sub-objectives are:
- Build confidence, leadership, interpersonal and other soft skills of 200 women through high-quality training sessions that are context-specific and gender-sensitive.
- Build the capacity of 200 women on context-specific, market-driven technical skills through high-quality training.
- Support and monitor the placements of 200 trained women in relevant employment, which is safe, secure and dignified (formal, a decent wage, good working conditions

ADVOCACY AND CAPACITY BUILDING
BKS works with the police, government, judiciary, Civil Society and vulnerable communities to help them to recognize their rights, taboos existing in our society like human trafficking and child labour. BKS also runs awareness raising programmes in communities on the importance of education and health care for mothers and young children. It has organized different state level sensitization workshops on child labour elimination and anti - human trafficking, adoption and non-institutional care and HIV-AIDS, migration and migrant children.
BKS has also done capacity building of Community Groups, continuous counseling of parents and with its efforts it has been able to join the families of vulnerable children with govt. schemes (income generation programmes like MNREGA Programmes, SGSY Programmes and making BPL Cards for them and other schemes etc. (more…)
