TWEETCHAT ON GBV AND TIP

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Asia Foundation had organized a Tweet chat in which Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Secretary of Bal Kalyan Sangh, was chosen as one of the panelists from India. He was introduced as a renowned Anti-Trafficking crusader working in the field of Child Protection and Women Empowerment for the past 30 years. He spoke on access to services to survivors of Gender based violence and Trafficking in Persons, the key stakeholders who are to provide these services and how together we could synergize services across countries and regions for TIP and GBV survivors.

NATIONAL LEVEL MEETING ON CHILD PROTECTION IN TRAVEL AND TOURISM

The Secretary of BalKalyan Sangh, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra at the National Level Meeting on Child protection in Travel and tourism on 8th March. 2021 in Delhi.Present along with him was the Hon’ble Member of NCPCR, Mr. R.G.Anand. Dr. Sanjay at the conference shared his experiences of the vulnerability of children in tourism destinations in Jharkhand and highlighted the importance of having systems and mechanisms to enhance the accountability of tourism service providers, planners, decision makers along with other duty bearers for strengthening child protection in tourist destinations as a contribution towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

NATIONAL CONSULTATION AT PURI, ODISHA

The Secretary of Bal Kalyan Sangh, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra as a panelist at the National Consultation and Convergence Meeting to End Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on 13th – 14thMarch 2021 at Puri, Odisha. He represented Jharkhand in the consultation where he spoke about child trafficking, the various ways in which this menace needs to curbed and how there could be a convergence of all stake holders. He was also a part of the National Board Meeting of the National Action and Coordinating Group against Violence against Women and Children that was held on the 15th of March, 2021 where Hon’bleShri. PriyankKanoongo, Chairperson of NCPCR was also present.
