Empowering Field Teams with Life Skill Training by Shri GVSR Prasad

As part of our continuous capacity-building efforts, a workshop was fully dedicated to a hands-on, interactive training session led by Shri GVSR Prasad. The session focused on equipping field workers with essential life skills, practical tools, and innovative methods to make learning centers more engaging and impactful for children and adolescents.

The training covered a wide spectrum of real-life skills, with active participation from field staff.Key topics included:

  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Understanding online safety for children and educating communities about digital risks.

  • Traffic Safety: Building knowledge about road rules and safe commuting practices.

  • Financial Literacy: Emphasizing the habit of saving through simple tools like a gullak (piggy bank).

  • Report Writing & Interview Skills: Enhancing documentation and storytelling from the field.

  • News Writing: Capturing and sharing local stories as part of community-based documentation.

  • Basic First Aid: Teaching life-saving health practices for immediate response in emergencies.

  • Time Management & Productivity: Helping team members balance responsibilities and improve effectiveness.

A special focus was also given to the “Life Skill Activity Resource Book” developed under the Sapno Ki Udaan project. Through this resource, participants explored creative and contextual ways to teach children vital skills that go beyond the classroom—fostering critical thinking, empathy, confidence, and decision-making.

The session was not just informative but also highly participatory, encouraging teams to reflect on their roles as facilitators of change. Shri Prasad’s engaging style, coupled with real-world examples and field-relevant exercises, ensured that the learnings were practical, memorable, and ready to be implemented in learning centres across the region.
