Sakhi Samvaad

Sakhi samvaad programme was held on 11th March 2019 at Swabhiman Kendra, Bijupara, Ranchi to mark the International Women’s Day of 8th March 2019. On this day the Chief Guest Shri. V. B. Pradhan, IPS, DG- Homeguard and Fire Brigade, GoJ addressed the women about women protection and self-safety. He also conducted the oath-taking ceremony of the Security Guard trainees of BKS who have successfully completed their training. Smt Kalyani Sharan, Chairperson, Jharkhand State Women Commission addressed the gathering of women and detailed them about rights of women and available govt. social protection schemes. She informed the women about the purpose of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme of govt. and said that we all should try to end violence against women and human trafficking. Smt. Usha Pandey, Chairperson, Jharkhand State Social Welfare Board said that today this day is a very important day to all of us as every we women are busy in our daily works with our dedication and honesty, so today this program has been organized to strengthen our voice and empower us on our rights. In this program BKS info didi was launched in which 5 bi-cycles were given to 5 ladies who were given the title of BKS info didi who will be a resource for the community people to aware them about their rights and about govt. social protection schemes of Jharkhand. Smt. Rupa Verma, Chairperson, CWC Ranchi said that now a days the mothers play an important role on the issue of child protection, so she said that all mothers should be similarly awared about women and child protection both. On this day Exam Warrior Book written by Hon. Prime Minister-Shri Narendra Modi was distributed among number of children studying in schools, so that all the children read the book and give their exams like celebrating a festival. On this day a poster on combating Domestic violence and Rights of Women was released by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Around 1200 women did participate in the program. Shri. Sanjay Kr. Mishra, Secretary, Bal Kalyan Sangh said that the main purpose of the organization is to ensure that the women and children are protected and they can avail their rights. He said that we are always active to work on these issues in ground level. He said that we also create awareness in community on different govt. social protection schemes so that these can be availed and benefitted to the women, children, community and marginalized and vulnerable people. The program anchoring was done by Ms. Arti kumari, BKS and vote of thanks was given by Shri. Birendra Prasad, Chairman, BKS. On this program 5 Sakhi didis were honoured with shawl for working best on the issue of women protection and empowerment. 50 village women were honoured with traditional saree of Jharkhand.
