  • Conducting parents teachers meetings
  • Capacity building of Teachers on using TLM.
  • Monthly weekend camps for vocational training for KGBV students
  • Strengthening of libraries and reading corners
  • Strengthening of Girls Group formations and Bal sansads
  • Support to KGBV students in science and maths in Jharkhand School and specific newsletter by students
  • Creating child friendly environment in both KGBV Primary and Upper-Primary Schools.
Expected Outcomes:
  • Increase in Retention of Children at School.
  • Ensuring quality education inconformity with RtE through community monitoring.

SHELTER HOME

Bal Kalyan Sangh, also the state coordinator of ATSEC Jharkhand chapter has taken initiative and has established a shelter home, “Kishori Niketan” at Bijupara for the trafficked survivors in the year 2003. The home was built upon the commitment to reduce the vulnerability of women and children and provide care and support to the survivors of trafficking and further restore their life with dignity and future prospects. Kishori Niketan provides an environment of comfort and delivers parental care to the survivors, who during their exploitation have lost their childhood and self confidence. (more…)

PROTECTING AND EMPOWERING CHILD DOMESTIC WORKERS (CDW) Aim The overall aim is to reduce CDW through an integrated approach of prevention, response, system strengthening, awareness raising and evidence sharing. Its is to reduce CDW across three states through an integrated approach of prevention, response, system strengthening, awareness raising and evidence sharing: To undertake CDW programming and advocacy work; rehabilitate, protect and educate CDWs and children at risk; establish rural child protection systems to counteract uninformed migration/ trafficking and NGs to monitor and tackle CDW levels; engage multiple stakeholders to promote children’s rights and advocate against CDW; build evidence of the prevalence and impact of CDW; and strengthen government approaches to tackle the situation. CHILDLINE (1098)

BKS is running CHILDLINE 1098 Programme as a Nodal Organization at Pakur and as Collaborative organization in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand since last 3 years with the support of Ministry of Women and Child Development Govt of India.  CHILDLINE is India’s first 24-hour, toll free, emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care and protection linking them to long-term services for their care and rehabilitation. Any child and concerned adult can call 1098 and access the CHILDLINE service any time of the day or night. Objectives of CHILDLINE 1098
  1. To reach out to every child in need of care and protection by responding to emergencies on 1098 and by physically reaching out to children.
  2. To adapt and integrate telecommunication technology, linking all districts to the service of 1098, and making it available to all children in need of care and protection.

TRANSIT HOME CUM WOMEN AND CHILD HELPLINE Aim of the Project: Empower our society for better justice, better living, respect and a stable society Objectives:
  • Generation of a sense of security from a very first hour of rescue, of victims of trafficking and exploitation , to their reintegration in the community from which they belong.
  • Generation of security to the rescued victims through shelter homes from where they will be rehabilitated and the process of their reintegration be carried out.
  • Empowering them with life skill trainings, confidence building and capacitate them to lead their life on their own
  • Strengthen them to fight against evils of traffickers and community
  • To create an environment where no gaps could be found between victims and other members of community
  • In the community the problem of individual will be considered as the problem of all and community could access security for suffers and alls

SANKALP- “Combating trafficking in children with focus on girl child in Jharkhand”  Overall objective: Restoration of trafficked victims to their family with focus on girl child in Jharkhand. Target groups: Trafficked Girl Child, who have been rescued by the authority and need to be reintegrated with their family. Driving Training

BKS has introduced this training in the year 2010 for girls as a pilot programme seeing the interest of girls in driving sector. Further BKS expanded this training in 2012 by providing this training to the boys too. Till now BKS has been providing training to 40 Youths and have placed 32 Youths in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect and sustaining their livelihood
