To combat human trafficking in Jharkhand Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, Ranchi came up with an idea of providing livelihood options to these rescued and vulnerable communities. The livelihood options include raising a force of women security guard from Jharkhand, housekeeping and Tailoring Training and it has also ventured into Motor driving, Nursing, Computer Applications, and Beautician training- with support of Central Reserve Police Force, GOI. The idea behind is to rehabilitate the girls who were the victim of trafficking or vulnerable to trafficking, or are poor so that employment opportunities for the girls can be created. After getting this training these trainees are placed at different agency, organizations, hotels etc. according to their capability and are living with self respect and dignity and securing their livelihoods.

Objective

To strengthen the capacity of unemployed youths, survivors of trafficking and vulnerable girls in Jharkhand and to secure their future by creating livelihood opportunity, BKS has provided training in following fields:

  • Security Guards- BKS has introduced this training programme in the year 2009 with the theme “Swawalambi Bano Swabhimaan Se Jeo” and with the aim to create livelihood options for the adolescent tribal women in rural areas of Jharkhand. This is a three month training course designed to leverage on the interest and natural of skills of women with a view to give them safe and secure working environment. Along with this BKS has also trained few boys in this trade after seeing the demand of them in this sector. Till now BKS has been providing training to 379 Youths and have placed 314 Youths in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
  • House Keepers- BKS has introduced this training programme in the year 2010 with a view to provide livelihood options at door step of every deprived, vulnerable class or society by making them self reliant. This training is an three months innovative marketable training that accelerate growth of socio-economic status of tribal adolescent girls by making them enhance in their skills through new technologies. Till now BKS has been providing training to 210 girls and have placed 238 Girls in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
  • Nursing Training- BKS has introduced this training programme in the year 2012 seeing the demand of nurses in hospitals and care units. The training was given to the girls of naxalite areas where they are forcedly involved into naxal activities or are also prone to sexual harassment. Due to un availability of livelihood opportunities they have to unwillingly get involved in these type of activities and are thus abused. So seeing this problem BKS came to introduce this training so that they could live their life with dignity and self-respect. Till now BKS has been providing training to 30 girls and have placed 28 Girls in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
  • Driving Training- BKS has introduced this training in the year 2010 for girls as a pilot programme seeing the interest of girls in driving sector. Further BKS expanded this training in 2012 by providing this training to the boys too. Till now BKS has been providing training to 40 Youths and have placed 32 Youths in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect and sustaining their livelihood.
  • Beautician Training – BKS has introduced this training in the year 2012 with a view to enhance the skills of girls and so that they could make their career in this sector. Also seeing the demand of girls in beauty sector this training was included in our trade so that through their demand and their will these girls would be able to grow more. Till now BKS has been providing training to 50 girls and have 45 Girls are self employed in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
  • Computer Training – BKS has introduced this training in the year 2012 seeing the interest of girls and also the society. Today in each and every sector we see the use of computers. At least basic level knowledge should be there in an individual to get into any sector of work. So this training also got included in our trade so that these girls could be benefitted. Till now BKS has been providing training to 50 girls and have placed 41 Girls in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
  • Tailoring Training – BKS has been providing this training since many years to the girls who are vulnerable, poor and to them who have interest in stitching and tailoring. We generally see this trade demand is more in villages, so as we are working for these children, girls and women we did included this training too since early years. Till now BKS has been providing training to 105 girls and have placed 65 Girls in different sectors and now they are living a life of dignity and self-respect.
